A Day at Disneyland Paris 2022

We couldn't fly over Paris without making this stop!

As true Disney fans, it’s been our dream to go to Disneyland Paris and when we found out we would be flying from London to Nice, France (directly over Paris) for a work trip, we knew we had to find a way to make a quick stop in Paris.

Let me just say this park is GORGEOUS! Everything from the building details to the lamp posts all have a fairytale/romantic feel about them. While we only had one day in chilly November to explore this park, we certainly made the most of it and I’m sharing with you what did, where we ate, where we stayed and what our over all thoughts were.

Grab a warm cup of coffee and come explore with us! ☕

Where We Stayed:

The B&B Hotel at Disneyland Paris

I actually found out about this place through watching someone else’s YouTube video on Disneyland Paris! So I thought I’d pass it along as a wonderful place to stay. It’s absolutely huge and it felt very clean. There is FREE breakfast, something not too common in Europe and as you can see in the video, it had a huge assortment of pastries, fruit, yogurt, bread and of course, coffee!

They have a free shuttle that runs every 20 minutes to and from the park and it was only about a 30 minute Uber ride from the Paris Airport. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here.

What We Did:

Phantom Manor

This… was… AMAZING! As soon as we made our way down that mystical, magical main street, we headed straight for our top priority ride… Phantom Manor. The Haunted Mansion at Disney World’s Magical Kingdom Park is by far my favorite ride at Disney and so naturally this was a must see. While there were many similarities to its’ Florida muse, the Paris version has its’ own story centered on the Bride that makes it a bit more mystical. As you’ll see in the footage, I couldn’t stop looking around at everything!

Pirates of the Caribbean

I was super impressed with this ride! They say the version in Florida is the worst and I can believe it. It’s just not very long or impressive. But this has the be the best version! It was quite a bit longer and had so many interesting scenes in it. The part of the park it’s located in is also quite impressive with a whole mini land that’s Pirate themed, including the restaurant we ended up eating at later that night Captain Jack’s (more on that below)!

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril

SCARY! If you don’t like roller coasters, I would not recommend it. It was pretty fun but a little intense. The loop was so tight, I was wondering how our carts would all bend around it! While the theming wasn’t as good as I expect from Disney, it’s still pretty thrilling. I did have to rest my head against my gloved hand so it wouldn’t hit the sides too much!

Alice in Wonderland Maze

I was so impressed by this! It was way more detailed and intricate than I thought it would be. The Maze is pretty long - I may or may not have gotten us lost in it - and there is a mini castle for the Queen of Hearts that has her little King hidden in it. So fun for any Alice fans :)

Hyperspace Mountain

This was quite possibly one of the most thrilling rides I’ve been on but I gotta be honest, I wasn’t a big fan. The theming was strange… still grasping to it’s Jules Verne roots but also trying to portray a Star Wars story. It felt like it got renovated but they only changed parts of it. The ride is so dark and fast you can barley see what’s going on. That’s not to say it wasn’t fun, but I’ll take my small little Florida Space Mountain star ride any day :)

Sleeping Beauty’s Castle

This was incredible! Not only can you go up into this castle, but you can go underneath it to see a dragon… it was pretty scary if I’m honest! Then you head upstairs for a tour of the story of Sleeping Beauty through stained-glass windows and storybooks in French. There are so many details in this part and I tried to cover as many of them as I could remember in our video.

Big Thunder Mountain

Another winner! This ride was shut down most of the day and it opened right at the end of the night when we got out of dinner. It was amazing! You start out going through a tunnel that takes you under the water and you emerge on an island where the coaster lives. It’s quite a bit longer and way more intense than it’s Florida counterpart. Even the ride’s creator Tony Baxter said this was his favorite version of the ride, and I could see why!

Where We Ate:

Café Hyperion

This was a great place to get out of the cold (that’s so weird to say about Disney) and grab a coffee or beer! The inside has a huge amphitheater for seating and it was playing Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas on the screens.

Captain Jack’s

As soon as Jeff saw this restaurant existed, he wanted to eat there but I was not able to book a dining reservation to save my life! When we went to ride Pirates of the Caribearn earlier that day, we went in on a whim to see if we could get a reservation. And we did! Goes to show you that if you’re unable to snag one in the app, always go in and check. The menu was at a fixed price so we split our app, meal and desert and it was the perfect amount of food!

*There credit card machines went down park-wide as we were paying and Jeff had to stand in an ATM line to get cash. At the last minute it worked and our card went through, but I would HIGHLY recommend brining some euros with you just in case!
